Refunds

Refund Policy

Amended: November 25 2019

In order to provide and maintain a consistent process for the administration of refunds the following Policy has been adopted.

Please Note:

All requests for refund must be made in writing and include all necessary documentation.
- A refund form is available upon request
All approved requests for refunds will be credited to invoice payment
A processing fee of $50.00 will be applied to all refunds
Refunds amounting to less than $50.00 will not be processed
When the registration is paid by a third party, such as Kidsport or Jumpstart, funds will not be returned to the member.
Exceptions to this policy will be at the discretion of the Board of Directors
Skater/Parent is to provide all necessary information and documents
The Registrar and Treasurer have authority to administer refund requests as fits the Policy.
All refunds will be brought to the attention of the Board of Directors

Procedure:

Prior to the beginning of the skating season:

1. A general explanation must be sent to the registrar, in writing, with reason for cancellation or withdrawal and must be made before the registration withdrawal deadline. Processing fee will be applied and SkateCanada membership fee, prepaid Bingo Hire will not be refunded.

At any time during the skating season

2. a) A refund will be applied on a pro-rated basis for medical reasons when a Medical Professional or Physiotherapist’s certificate is provided. Requests must be sent to the Registrar, in writing, within 30 days of the injury. Refunds will be pro-rated from the last day of skating. Processing fee will be applied and SkateCanada membership fee, and prepaid Bingo Hire, will not be refunded.

b) A refund will be given on a pro-rated basis if a skater has moved 50km or more outside of City Limits. Requests must be sent to the registrar, in writing, within 30 days of the move. Refunds will be pro-rated from the last day of skating. Processing fee will be applied and SkateCanada membership fee, prepaid Bingo Hire, will not be refunded.

Exception for PreCanSkate and CanSkate Skaters only:

1. Within the first two (2) lessons, if the parent or coach feels the skater is not ready, either physically or developmentally, to participate in the program a refund may be requested. will be pro-rated from the last day of skating. Processing fee will be applied and Skate Canada membership fee and prepaid bingo hire will not be refunded.
